A Prayer—of Submission & Humility
I pray today, Lord God, for a heart of submission and humility for myself, my family, and the Church. I pray for reverent submission toward you; and that we would always clothe ourselves with humility toward one another, because we know and acknowledge that you, our God, oppose the proud but give grace to the humble.
Therefore we sincerely humble ourselves under your mighty hand Father, knowing that you will lift us up in due time. I pray that we will imitate Christ’s humility and submit ourselves to one another out of reverence for Jesus Christ.
In this entire holy process of learning humility, Father, I pray that we would be like-minded in Christ, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose, doing nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. May our attitudes be like that of Jesus Christ, taking the very nature of true servants of the living God, and in humility considers others better than ourselves; looking not only to our own interests, but also to the interests of others.
And I pray earnestly this day Father that each of us continues to work out our salvation with fear and trembling, for it is you, our loving and faithful dear God who works in us to will and to act according to your good purpose.
And I pray that we would wholeheartedly and faithfully submit ourselves to you O God, and resist the schemes and temptations of the devil, standing firm in the faith; and we trust that you, the God of all grace, who called us to your eternal glory in Christ will yourself restore us and make us strong, firm and steadfast.
To you be the power and the glory in all that we are, forever and ever Father.
In Christ Name I Pray
Amen
