A Prayer—Perseverance & Focus for the Church during the Holidays
Holy Father since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses in heaven, I pray for the strength, especially during this holiday season, to throw off everything that hinders us from our intimacy and obedience to both you and Jesus Christ.
I pray also that we would be diligent in throwing off the sin and the temptations and arrows from evil that can so easily plague, deceive, and entangle us.
As Noah, in holy fear, built the Ark, may we, also in holy fear, and reverence run with perseverance the race in Christ marked out for us. In this race, O God, I pray that as the body of Christ we would fix our eye firmly upon Jesus, the author and the perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him, endured the cross, scorning its shame, and then you sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Father I pray earnestly for the Saints this holiday season, that we would all consider the Cross, the death, the burial, the resurrection, and the ascension of Jesus, who endured opposition from sinful men and from Satan so that we will not grow weary and lose heart this holiday season.
Father, may your Kingdom come in our lives; may your will be done.
In Christ Name I pray,
Amen
