A Prayer—for Wisdom
Lord God today I pray for a spirit of wisdom and revelation so that we may know you better.
Oh, the depth of the riches and the wisdom and the knowledge of you our God! How unsearchable your judgments Father, and how sovereign & blameless your ways! For who has known the mind of the Lord our God; or who has been your counselor? For from you and through you and to you O God is all things.
So we pray for your wisdom Father, wisdom from heaven, to saturate all of our ways. We pray for wisdom that comes from heaven and is pure; peace-loving, considerate, reverently submissive, full of mercy and good fruit; we pray for wisdom that is impartial and sincere.
May we possess the wisdom that fears you, O God, more than most do; for we know that the fear of the Lord our God is the beginning of wisdom, and through knowledge of the Holy One we gain understanding.
We give thanks Father, for this wisdom and understanding given to your Saints; wisdom and understanding found only by faith in the Holy One, Jesus Christ our Lord. So I pray that we may know the full riches of this wisdom and have a complete understanding of the Holy One, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom you have hidden all the treasures of wisdom of knowledge and of understanding.
I pray also dear God, that the eyes of our hearts may be enlightened with this wisdom from heaven in order that we may know this hope to which you have called us heavenly in Christ Jesus our Lord; the riches of your glorious inheritance in the saints.
Father, I am so thankful that you always give this wisdom so generously without finding fault; I am so grateful for your love in revealing the wisdom of Christ to your saints; and I praise you and thank you for taking the time to hear and to answer these prayers for wisdom, revelation, knowledge and understanding.
We offer these prayers in loving reverence for your Holy Name.
In Christ Name I Pray
Amen
